Having… an early jug of beer with friends before the madness sets in.
Then the next day if I need a slap up feed and a cup of Wellington’s finest coffee I’ll be at…Kreutzberg Summer Café. It’s a little slice of Berlin at the corner of Cuba and Webb Streets. Grab a toastie and a coffee from the caravan and enjoy the sunshine.
I always find if you need some culture you can’t go past… Bats Theatre for the latest offering from local talent. I love how small and intimate it is and they have dollar lolly mixtures at the candy bar.
And if it’s exercise you need it’s hard to beat… dancing with the Real Hot Bitches at Island Bay surf club on Saturday afternoons. I’m also a big fan of Bridget’s Yoga by the Sea at the Band Rotunda on Oriental Bay.
My favourite Wellington landmark is… The South Coast on a wild southerly day.
The Wellingtonian I would take to a pub-quizis… my Nana, Doreen. When you’ve been around 87 years you just know stuff.
I am most ashamed to have never visited… H2Oxtreme. One of Upper Hutt’s star attractions and it’s got a waterslide. What am I waiting for?
If I had to be reincarnated as an animal I’dchoose to come back as a …tuatara. It’s one way to boost the numbers.
I know I shouldn’t, but Wellington’s best kept secret is… Kaitoke Regional Park. Walk through some beautiful native bush, take a picnic and find a nice spot to swim in the river.Magic.
